Pixel Picasso
While i'm not a great artist by any means, I realized that through my understanding of computer programming, I can create programs that generate interesting and wonderful pieces of Art. Some might say this is sad but it is just another medium that which I can express myself and also importantly, highlight the endless possibilities of applying computational intelligence outside traditional applications.
Interactive Computing has propelled Art into a new era where it is revolutionized by our digital culture and borderless imagination.
The problem
I wanted to capture the ever-changing moments of life and provide a mesmerizing experience as one watches their life unfolds on the canvas.
The solution
I utilized a Webcam to provide a live video capture of the surrounding environment and subject. Pixels in each frame, is then scanned for which data is then extracted. Ellipses of random properties are then drawn on the screen overtime based on the extracted hue, brightness and saturation data of each pixel to create the art piece.
My Role
Its important that I continue to learn, work and play by developing creative applications that leverage new mediums and provide mesmerizing experiences.
